Flawless Look in Just 5 Minutes

Are you running late and can't afford to look anything less than amazing? Then this brief article will guide you on getting a beautiful and flawless look in just 5 minutes

Step 1
Fill in the brows using a brown eye pencil/eyebrow filler.

Step 2
Using your flat angled brush and a little concealer, highlight the brow bone and do same from the top of the brow to sharpen the brow effect. Should in case you have blemishes to conceal, do so at once before putting aside the concealer.

Step 3
Using the foundation brush, spread foundation over the face and blend. Use a beauty blender for a briefer process. Apply caution to avoid wiping off the eyebrow pencil. This step is to give you that alluring flawless base.

Step 4
Apply black liquid eyeliner on the lashline and a khol pencil on the rim of the eye. Then brush the eyelashes with a mascara.  This step is to define the eyes and make you look calmly attractive.

Step 5
Step 5 is the finishing touch. Apply powder and lip-stain!

6 Essential Makeup Brushes And Their Less-Pricey Alternatives

This post would benefit a lot of us who are beauty enthusiasts and yet appreciate the value of savings! Some of us buy a bunch of makeup brushes and after a few weeks they are all lying idle in every corner of the room ..Yuck!
What makeup brushes do I really need? Which is essential and which is not?
Without much preamble, let's go straight to the point!

1. Foundation Brush
The Flat foundation brush is a synthetic brush used to apply liquid or cream foundation on the face.
The duo fibre brush is specifically designed to generate an airbrushed finish when used to apply a liquid foundation. An example is the MAC #187 DUO FIBRE BRUSH costs about N7,000 ($42).

ALTERNATIVE: Recently, i found a new tool for applying foundation that gives me that satisfying airbrush finish! Haha!  It's a BEAUTY BLENDER(an egg shaped makeup sponge). Costs about "N165 ($1)" for one piece

2. Powder/Blush Brush
Powder brush is used to apply pressed or loose powder all over the face. It is also fantastic for using as a bronzing brush for larger areas of the skin such as the neck. The bristles pick up the perfect amount of colour(powder/bronzer) and
distribute flawlessly onto the skin.
Medium-sized powder brush can also be used to apply blush on apple of the cheek. MAC 129 POWDER/BLUSH BRUSH costs N5,980($35)

ALTERNATIVE:  POWDER FOAM/DISC FOAM is used to apply powder on the face. With this, you can massage the powder to penetrate evenly and hence, more flawless look will be achieved! It relatively cheap and costs about N50($0.50) for one.

3.Eyeshadow Brush
Used to apply pressed or loose eyeshadows  and pigments to the eyelid. Example is MAC #213 FLUFF BRUSH and it costs N4,056($24)

ALTERNATIVE: unknown

4.Eye Contour Brush
This dome shaped eye brush is ideal for contouring the socket area for an intense eye look. The soft bristle diffuse colour beautifully while giving an intense finish. A good example is  MAC 219 PENCIL BRUSH and it costs N4,225($25)

ALTERNATIVE: you can use your eyeshadow brush for this purpose:D

5.Flat Angled Brush
The small angled or slanted brush is used to fill the sparse area of the brows. Ideal to apply highlight shade under the eyebrows and the inner corner. An example is MAC #208 ANGLED BROW BRUSH, costs N3,380($20)

ALTERNATIVE: Thick COTTON BUDS can be used for shaping the eyebrow arch when dipped in concealer or foundation. Costs about N169($1) for a 150psc

6.Spiral Eyebrow Brush
This is used to take excess mascara from the lashes to avoid clogging. It is also used to tone down eye pencil from the brows when it's too much!
An example is MAC LASH BRUSH and it costs N2,536($15)

ALTERNATIVE: do u know that an OLD MASCARA WAND works magic? U can wash for use and it serves perfectly as it's same as the spiral eyebrow brush. It costs nothing!

There are so many other brushes. From my List above ...with brush 1 and 2, be sure to have that flawless base you seek.
Brush 3 and l4 would help you blend colors on the eyelid perfectly and contour on the crease respectively.
Brush 5 and 6 would help you achieve the perfect brow arch.  Still want to know the rest of the makeup brushes and their respective usage?Keep visiting the page at intervals and  be updated!!!

Essential Makeup Tools(what do you have in your kit?)

What makeup tools and cosmetics do you have in your collection? Is your kit built for personal or professional purpose? You don't have to spend more than you can comfortably afford to have a well-built kit, it's not about having the 'expensive' tools but the 'right' tools.

Building your makeup kit may be close to having a dosage of eyeshadow colours but not exactly that. Don't lust for the beautiful colors because you may never have enough of it.
The difference between one successful makeup artist and another may just be an item that the other doesn't have in her work box. It is ideal we know exactly what we need, make a list(on a scale of preference) and try to get them at your pace.

Nevertheless, we should not forget that the makeup tools we would need for a beauty makeup could be different from that of editorials as well as makeup fx.

Here's a list of the basic beauty makeup tools
-makeup box/bag
-makeup brushes(or your fingers)
-foundation(shades)
-concealer(shades)
-powder shades(translucent powder)
-lip colour shades(from nude to a brighter colour)
-lip liner shades
-eyebrow pencils
-eyeliner shades(first choice black)
-mascara shades(first choice black)
-shades of blush
-bronzer shades
-face wipes
-primers(face, eye and lip primer)
-fixing spray
-false lashes and glue
-eyelash curler
-cotton bud
-makeup sponges/beauty blender
-powder puff
-oil blotters
-blade, pair tweezers and baby scissors

A professional would need to go beyond the basic list to have:
-glitters
-eye gloss(shades)
-contour kit
-apron
-cape
-hairband
-table cloth
-cotton wool
-hair straightener and curling wand
-comb, weave brush and hair brush
-bobby pins/hairpins
-spray on
-mint sweets
-hair spray, gel
-hand cream
-hand sanitizer
-disposable foundation palette/mixer

Don't forget to comment on any item u feel is important and hasn't been mentioned. Everyone deserves to be beautiful!
Happy New Week D-beauties!!!!

How To Get Your Makeup Last Longer

Does your makeup last all day? There are only a few things worse than spending a huge time on your makeup, only to discover it was all in vain by lunch. You can quit being a victim of this annoying experience, see how to keep your 'beauty' intact all day.

Prime That Face!
Primers are used to prepare the face for other makeup, it serves as a base. Primer is super important when it comes to making your 'beauty' last till eternity. It's like the foundation to your foundation. Primers are packed with silicone which prevents the oil on your face from washing off your makeup.
Before applying any other makeup, smooth a primer all over the face including your eyelid and under eye.
I know we might have tried some face primers but using benefit 'the porefessional' is a game changer. Do not apply so much of it to avoid oily result and also allow it to dry for 20secs before applying foundation.

Foundation-Powder Formula
Use a foundation brush to evenly blend in foundation on your face. This synthetic brush deposits a thinner layer of foundation than your finger does. Less is more! "The more makeup you apply, the more there is to slide, smudge or smear" says Godwin. Only apply the foundation you need and use a concealer to cover blemishes. I always use makeup sponge to press in my foundation afterwards, sometimes with little skin finish mineral powder e.g is MAC mineralize skinfinish natural.
Be sure to cover your foundation with powder, or all your makeup will soon disappear. Always use a invisible/translucent color or one that is as close to your skin colour as possible. An example is Ben Nye Translucent Powder.

Eye Primer Power
Eye primer is also an essential for your eye-makeup to last longer. Good eye primers make the eyeshadow stick to the eyelid like metal to magnet. An example of a good eye primer is Urban decay's eye primer portion. It makes that eyeshadow creasing on the eyelid a thing of the past and helps capture eyeshadow colour on your eyelid.
Eye primers are only used on the eyelid and not underneath the eyelid.

There are a lot more open secrets on how to prolong your "beauty" for each day, but I'll wrap it up here for today. I hope we can try out these little tricks and experience the improvement we've always longed for.  It's easy! Purchase the right products and get started!
